A note on Cumbernauld specifics
Cumbernauld’s planned, low-rise neighbourhoods — Seafar, Kildrum, Carbrain, Ravenswood and others — give large runs of unshaded roof, well suited to solar. Later private estates such as Westerwood and Condorrat add detached and semi-detached family homes with larger, simpler roof planes. At about 55.9°N, the solar year is strongly seasonal, so we typically size systems to make the most of long summer days and pair them with a battery where it makes sense.
Solar on most homes is permitted development in Scotland; listed buildings and conservation areas need consent, so check with North Lanarkshire Council before proceeding. We can advise on the process as part of your quote.
